ENERGY CONSERVATION
The cost of energy is a significant part of the operating budget for our buildings. Last year, the total utility costs were approximately $500,000.
We aim to keep utility costs as low as possible to allocate funds for property maintenance and upkeep, while also minimizing rent increases. The majority of energy consumption takes place inside individual apartments. With your help and cooperation, we can maintain the standards you expect and avoid higher rent increases.
We encourage all residents to follow these simple and effective measures to save energy:
- Turn off lights and electrical devices when not in use, especially when leaving the unit.
- Do not block baseboard heaters (Forest Ridge).
- Keep windows closed when it’s cold outside. However, windows with water condensation should be slightly opened for air circulation.
- Keep the thermostat in your unit at approximately 20-22 degrees Celsius.
- Report any water leaks in your unit to the office immediately.
